NatWest Group is hiring an Associate AWS DevOps Engineer for its Digital X feature teams in Bangalore. Grounded in the principles of engineer, protect, and operate, this role focuses on automating and maintaining secure, high-performance, and resilient cloud solutions. You will be embedded in a permanent team responsible for the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)—from design to decommissioning. Key responsibilities include managing the enterprise GitLab platform, architecting containerized application deployments, enforcing DevSecOps compliance barriers, and implementing advanced multi-environment observability patterns to maximize banking infrastructure uptime and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in software engineering, systems design, cloud architecture patterns, and Agile methodologies.
  • Explicitly requires an AWS Certified Developer certification with hands-on experience deploying and operating services across the AWS cloud ecosystem.
  • Considerable experience designing and implementing scalable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab. Direct expertise configuring branching strategies, optimizing runners, maintaining repositories, enforcing code standards, and balancing pipeline cost and reliability.
  • Hands-on operational ownership of multi-environment deployments (Dev, Test, Production) supporting containerized microservices workloads running on Docker, AWS ECS (Elastic Container Service), or AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
  • Proven capability embedding automated security scanning, secrets management configurations, and policy enforcement checks directly into active deployment workflows while driving operational excellence to maximize system uptime.
  • Practical experience constructing and maintaining enterprise-grade cloud monitoring stacks using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana to track system health, logging, and capacity alerts.
  • Strong analytical history resolving complex infrastructure, optimization, and virtualization bottlenecks using software engineering best practices for high availability and performance.
